Ilana Berlowitz

Dr. Ilana Berlowitz is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Bern (Faculty of Medicine, Clinic for Nuclear Medicine), Switzerland. She specializes in clinical research on Indigenous and traditional uses of psychoactives in the mental health field. She has conducted extensive research in the Peruvian Amazon and collaborates with transdisciplinary partners across Latin America. She was awarded the Inger-Salling Prize for outstanding accomplishments in Swiss psychiatry research for her work, has raised competitive grants (Swiss National Science Foundation), and currently leads highly innovative clinical research on therapeutic applications of the tobacco plant in traditional medicine.
